Internet Marketing 101 – My Marketing Story
August 12th, 2008I learned about online marketing after failing to create a full time income with traditional MLM and home based business programs. After all of my effort over the years, the only thing that was consistent was my failure to make the kind of money that matters.
Because of this painful experience, I was extremely skeptical that setting up a successful internet business, could be possible for anyone just starting out, or for someone that had failed over and over again as I had.
I was also searching for a way to make money that wouldn’t take all of my time, or cost too much to get started. I had already been in numerous home based businesses like Emerald Passport and Coastal Vacations.
I had serious doubts about how anyone could succeed in an industry that required so much knowledge about ever changing web technology. After failing time an time again most new internet marketers find running a website, an enormous task without the right mentorship and training.
I am no web-designer or advertising professional, so naturally I found it extremely difficult to make money on the internet with what little knowledge I had. It wasn’t that the products I was selling were bad. It was that I didn’t know how internet marketing works.
So after falling short of my goals with my coastal vacations travel business, I put my business on the back burner and took a few months off to look at how internet marketing really works. I accepted the fact that I wasn’t going to make money with anything online until I learned how other successful entrepreneurs really run their businesses.
The problem was most “gurus I talked to didn’t have time for me, or certainly wouldn’t show me exactly how they were making money online, unless I purchased their “system”. After looking all over the internet for someone that would give me a break and show me the truth, I gave up and decided to try and restart my Coastal Vacations business. I did a search on Google to find my mentor and sponsor that originally signed me up in Coastal.
I had hoped that perhaps they had increased their sales training and that my mentor would offer me more support. I came across a website that purported to assist internet newbies with learning the ins and outs of internet marketing. That program was EDC Diamond and at the time EDC Gold. It’s funny because it wasn’t until I did a search for my sponsor on Google that I actually discovered the EDC Diamond and EDC Gold Opportunities.
Like many aspiring internet newbies, I had joined the program, fizzled out and then returned to try once again with the help of my original sponsor. I soon learned that my sponsor had disappeared and had in fact went into what I called “witness protection.” (He dropped off the face of the earth with Coastal Vacations)
After finally finding my sponsors phone number in my old notes ( his website was gone!), he indicated that he was no longer actively pursuing an income online, and in fact had returned to a corporate job!
So much for the person who assured me that making money was easy online! Luckily when I returned to my computer, the screen that was open showed a link that I had never seen before.
EDC Gold was a new company that had just launched and clearly was demonstrating value to their members. They offered anyone the opportunity to learn internet marketing free before paying anything to join.
The link I found, was literally music to my ears, because it explained that a company called EDC Gold and EDC Diamond offered their training free, for anyone that wanted to learn about internet marketing.
EDC Diamond is a program that offers training to anyone that has a true desire to succeed online. Whether you use their products is up to each individual but the training is so impressive that most people see the benefit in joining.
They did not use any kind of persuasive sales scripts to sell me or anything. They just offered sound advice on internet marketing each week, and it was free to attend for either new or paid members.
I soon discovered that EDC Diamond offered training 7 days a week that could fit anyone’s schedule. So I continued attending the free training with the intention of using their insight for my existing program. I was too skeptical to believe in starting yet another program, and was not about to spend another dime until I knew if their marketing training truly worked. I spoke with a helpful and knowledgeable top earner in EDC Gold that walked my through the step by step system they have in place for new entrepreneurs, but again evaded joining.
However, after using the edc training for a few days I made a sale for my coastal vacations business and the rest is history. I was left with little choice other than joining EDC Diamond since it was more affordable and offered more training than my coastal travel business.
I made the decision to start my EDC Gold business and now make a consistent income online. If you are tired of being burned by programs that purport to offer tons of assistance, yet require you to pay before joining, I encourage you to learn about EDC Gold and EDC Diamond as I have.

This post tells a lot about the world of internet business. The ups and downs, the advantages and also the loop holes in it. We have to learn all the skills to stay alive here. Training is required to achieve the success. Thanks for the additional details about EDC training program.
